The Wood
I work with found and salvaged materials to create art. I use
firewood, branches and bark to make both practical and sculptural pieces.
I like to see what is underneath the surface of the material when I
plane or carve into it, whether it is the grain pattern in wood, or marks
made by insects in the bark's surface. I enjoy searching firewood and brush piles for interesting bark and unusual pieces of wood.

The Wool
The wool I work with comes from worn out sweaters which are taken apart and then felted in the washing machine. I love finding uses for all of the different colors, textures, patterns and thicknesses of the felted wool.
So many soft scraps of color that capture my imagination and inspire new creations.
